“A women is the full circle. Within her is the power to create, nurture and transform.” Diane Mariechild
Welcoming a little one (or more) into your family is such a special time. Did you realize that while you were giving birth to your baby, you were also giving birth to a Mum? You are amazing!
During pregnancy we usually focus on creating the birth we want to achieve; choosing our support team, writing our birth preferences and preparing our body physically. Often, we forget to consider how much we will change physically and emotionally when our baby arrives.
This time can be challenging in different ways than your pregnancy was. Your body is now recovering from one of the hardest and most transformative processes it has ever experienced. You may or may not be getting sleep, finding time to shower or eat and you may find yourself crying without warning, overcome with emotions. You will also be using your body in new ways too; lifting and carrying, feeding and cuddling.
How I can help:
- Chiropractic care to help your body find its new way of being and to manage the physical demands on your body
- Nurturing and supportive environment
- Referral network of practitioners (e.g. lactation consultants, naturopaths, nutritionists)
Postnatal Chiropractic Care
Chiropractic care after the birth is just as important, as you recover and navigate a new way of being. Many new mums schedule regular appointments with Dr Kimberley to manage the change in physical activities, such as lifting, carrying, bending and long periods of sitting. This may also help to reduce your chances of injury from things like the increasing weight you will be lifting and awkward positions you’ll be in (think putting a child in and out of a cot and car seat).
